In belief/story paradigms, there is a sense of trivialization created when we summarize. We only include information that we think is important, but we may leave out a minor detail that played a role. Large or small, this role has now been excluded from the audience’s experience. Belief can be left out or privileged because your belief may not be the same as someone else.

I the paradigms of information and proof, the same thing is true, trivialization and banalization are calculated and planned exclusions of information that is not seen as important by the author, but may leave out some important and insightful tidbits for the audience. I like to think of this as secret keeping.
